Dayhoff: Darryl Hale remembered as a ‘trusted voice’ in Taneytown government

Longstanding Taneytown official Darryl Hale served in the United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged as a Corporal. He was an exemplary Marine, serving during Operation Desert Shield and Storm. While in service he received many honors, to include; Southwest Asia Service Medal, with 2 Stars, a Navy Unit Citation, USS Portland, a Kuwait Liberation Medal, a Meritorious Unit Commendation, a Navy Unit Commendation, with 1 star, and a Combat Action Ribbon. At the time of his death, Hale was serving as the Director of Planning and Zoning and Code Enforcement for the City of Taneytown.
