According to a news release from the police department, 43-year-old Katrina M. Prieur of Upper Marlboro died a day after the crash due to the injuries she sustained in the collision.
Police said that around 6:15 p.m., officers arrived at the intersection of Mount Zion Marlboro Road and Main Street in Lothian for a crash involving a motorcycle.
According to the news release, investigators determined a 2012 Honda Accord was turning left onto Mount Zion Marlboro Road from Main Street when it was struck by Prieur, who was driving a 2009 Yamaha Star motorcycle west on Mount Zion Marlboro Road.
Police said Prieur struck the Honda’s driver’s side rear quarter panel, causing Prieur to be ejected from the motorcycle and land in the road.
The Honda was driven by a 20-year-old man from Bowie who was not injured in the accident, according to the news release.
Prieur was flown to the University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore with life-threatening injuries. She died the following day, police said.

]]>Anne Arundel County Police responded to reports of shots fired along the B&A Trail in Glen Burnie around 5 a.m. Dan Guiliani, worried about his son’s whereabouts, arrived at the crime scene. “As soon as the detective rolled that blanket over man, I saw his shoulders, I saw his hair. And I knew,” he said.
According to charging documents obtained by the Capital Gazette, Johnny Guiliani and another person were walking along the trail when they were approached by several suspects in a stolen vehicle. Two individuals attempted to rob Guiliani, who fought back. “Johnny attacked the guy. Johnny knocked the guy on his ass,” said Dan Guiliani. Investigators say that is when Johnny was shot. “There’s where he died right there man,” he added.
Surveillance video and DNA evidence led investigators to 17-year-old Mactouko Ryan, who is charged with murder and other offenses as an adult. “My hope is they continue doing what they say they’re gonna do. They’re gonna try him as an adult,” said Dan Guiliani. However, Ryan’s attorney is seeking to move the case to juvenile court. “At that bail hearing they were requesting him to be moved to a juvenile facility and the judge said no,” Dan Guiliani said.
Police are still searching for at least three other suspects, whose ages are unknown. “My hope is uh, is uh that he’s held accountable for what he did, you know. And anybody else that was involved for that matter,” said Dan Guiliani.
Anne Arundel County Police confirmed the case remains active and ongoing.
Dan Guiliani cherishes the memory of his son, recalling a heartfelt conversation they had the night before Johnny’s death. “I was blessed. The night before he died I was able to sit with him for two hours and we had a very long conversation. Normal dad and son stuff,” he said. Remembering Johnny, he added, “Johnny was a good guy. He loved his family, loved his friends. Do anything for his friends.”

]]>Around 5 p.m., firefighters were alerted about a hazmat situation on the 2100 block of Wicomico Street in the Saint Paul neighborhood. After arriving, Baltimore fire crews evacuated 100 people from the building that houses Holly Poultry. Of those, 10 needed assistance, according to John Marsh, public information officer for Baltimore Fire Department.
After all 10 were evaluated, four were sent to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the fire department.
The fire department and the Maryland Department of the Environment deemed the building safe Sunday evening after monitoring carbon dioxide levels, said Marsh. The departments were “unable to definitively determine the source of the elevated” carbon dioxide, he said.
Holly Poultry did not immediately return a request for comment.

]]>Around 4:45 p.m., a 42-year-old man entered the store and used a folding knife to stab 11 people, the Grand Traverse County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement on social media. A sheriff’s deputy arrived within minutes and took the man into custody, and people in the store also helped apprehend the suspect and treat victims, the sheriff’s office said.
The victims’ ages weren’t immediately released.
“Eleven is 11 too many, but thank God it wasn’t more,” Sheriff Michael Shea told reporters.
Emergency vehicles and uniformed first responders gathered in the parking lot of the shopping center that houses several other retail stores. Authorities also were seen interviewing employees, still wearing blue uniform vests and name tags, nearby as the response gave way to an investigation.
Tiffany DeFell, 36, who lives in Honor, about 25 miles (40 kilometers) from Traverse City, said she was in the store’s parking lot when she saw chaos erupt around her.
“It was really scary. Me and my sister were just freaking out,” she said. “This is something you see out of the movies. It’s not what you expect to see where you’re living.”
Munson Healthcare said via social media that 11 people were being treated at the region’s largest hospital in northern Michigan. Spokesperson Megan Brown said all were stabbing victims. Six people were critical and five were in serious condition late Saturday, she said.
Shea said the weapon involved appeared to be a folding-style knife. Shea said the suspect is believed to be a Michigan resident but declined to share further details. Michigan State Police had said earlier in the day that the suspect was in authorities’ custody.
Gov. Gretchen Whitmer said: “Our thoughts are with the victims and the community reeling from this brutal act of violence.”
Walmart said in a statement that it would continue to work closely with law enforcement in the investigation.
“Violence like this is unacceptable. Our thoughts are with those who were injured and we’re thankful for the swift action of first responders,” the statement said.
FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino said in a social media post that bureau officials were responding to “provide any necessary support.”
Traverse City is a popular vacation spot on the coast of Lake Michigan. It is known for its cherry festival, wineries and lighthouses and is about 25 miles (40 kilometers) east of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.
