We have all heard the expression “good ol’ boy” and the “good ol’ boys network.” This letter pertains to Baltimore County Executive Kathy Klausmeier. She is a “good ol’ girl” doing things her way, at her pace. She is, in effect, treating pressing issues shrouded in ignorance or indifference (“Baltimore County executive nominates new inspector general, rejects Madigan,” July 24).

Baltimore County Inspector General Kelly Madigan has basically been kept in the dark regarding her future with the county. Suddenly, County Executive Klausmeier names a new inspector general on Thursday after keeping everything in secrecy for weeks. It is evident to me that the county executive is totally overwhelmed.

Come out of your shell and face the music, Klausmeier, and if you cannot, turn the reins over to someone who will face issues head-on.
