U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi promised to release a new list<\/a> of people flown to the private Caribbean island of Jeffrey Epstein, the disgraced financier and convicted sex offender whose 2019 death led to widespread conspiracy theories.<\/p>\n

Bondi\u2019s promise led to an unusual scene at the White House Thursday, as conservative influencers and political commentators such as Rogan \u201cDC Draino\u201d O\u2019Handley, Chaya Raichik and Liz Wheeler held up binders labelled “The Epstein Files,” according to the Associated Press. The contents of the binders have not yet been publicly released by the Department of Justice.<\/p>\n

Bondi said during a Fox News appearance Wednesday that the eventual documents would include flight logs and \u201ca lot of names.\u201d<\/p>\n

Epstein\u2019s criminal activities have fascinated the public since his fall from grace in July 2019, when the financier was arrested on child sex trafficking charges at New Jersey\u2019s Teterboro Airport. Authorities claim Epstein, then 66, took his own life in a Manhattan prison the following month\u00a0 while awaiting trial, though \u201cEpstein didn\u2019t kill himself\u201d memes went viral and questions around his death persist.<\/p>\n

The years since Epstein\u2019s death have been filled with legal battles over his $600 million estate, particularly from alleged sex abuse victims seeking compensation for what they experienced on Little Saint James, the 71.6-acre private island in the U.S. Virgin Islands acquired by Epstein in 1998.<\/p>\n

Who flew to Epstein\u2019s island?<\/h4>\n

In January 2024, New York federal judge Loretta Preska ordered the release of some Epstein flight logs, which contained 90 names. Four of these 90 names were redacted because they are the names of alleged sex abuse victims, though victim-turned-advocate Virginia Giuffre was listed.<\/p>\n

The names include political heavyweights like President Donald Trump, former President Bill Clinton and his Vice President, Al Gore. Trump and Clinton have been photographed with Epstein over the years, but both have repeatedly denied wrongdoing.<\/p>\n

Prince Andrew of England was also officially named as a passenger on Epstein\u2019s private jet. The confirmation came after Andrew\u2019s November 2019 BBC interview<\/a> detailing his relationship with Epstein \u2014 the backlash caused Andrew to be indefinitely suspended from all royal duties.<\/p>\n

Major entertainment figures, such as David Copperfield, Cameron Diaz, Leonardo DiCaprio, Michael Jackson and Bruce Willis, also made the initial flight log list.<\/p>\n

Despite the poor optics of being associated with the Epstein flight logs, the mere presence of a person\u2019s name on the list does not necessarily mean they engaged in illegal sex acts with children.<\/p>\n
