It is tasked with discussing family life instruction in public schools, reviewing all health curricula, and providing recommendations to the school board.<\/p>\n<p>The committee <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baltimoresun.com\/2024\/08\/23\/carrolls-family-life-advisory-committee-meeting-topics-unveiled\/\">was directed by the school board to review three topics during the past year<\/a>, including current and proposed instructional materials used in health lessons for all school levels and the school system\u2019s permission process for health education.<\/p>\n<p>A report will also be given on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baltimoresun.com\/2025\/05\/13\/carroll-blueprint-staff\/\">updates related to implementation of the Blueprint for Maryland&#8217;s Future<\/a>. The Blueprint is a multibillion-dollar education reform law enacted in 2020 and designed to reform Maryland public schools so that every student will be ready to enter the workforce or higher education after graduating.<\/p>\n<p>Robert Moton Elementary School is now eligible to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baltimoresun.com\/2023\/03\/10\/carroll-county-board-of-education-receives-new-budget-insights-hears-concerns-about-blueprints-impact\/\">receive additional resources under Blueprint, as a designated &#8220;community school,&#8221;<\/a> based on the school&#8217;s concentration of poverty, which is determined by the number of students at the school who receive free or reduced-priced meals.<\/p>\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.baltimoresun.com\/2024\/02\/21\/taneytown-elementary-eligible-to-receive-poverty-funding-under-blueprint-program\/\">Taneytown Elementary became eligible to become a community school last year<\/a>, and is now eligible for per-pupil grant funding, according to the agenda.<\/p>\n\n<p>Crossroads Middle School, an alternative school designed to serve students temporarily, has exited eligibility. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baltimoresun.com\/2024\/05\/31\/westminster-graduate-says-gateway-carrolls-alternative-high-school-put-him-on-path-to-success\/\">Gateway School,<\/a> the county&#8217;s alternative high school, is eligible to become a community school this year, according to the agenda.
