In 2022, Warner Bros. Discovery hired the filmmaker behind the largely fantastic \u201cGuardians of the Galaxy\u201d movies for Disney-owned Marvel Studios as co-chairman and -CEO of DC Studios. WBD tasked him with overseeing the construction of the DC Universe \u2014 the successor to the DC Extended Universe, home to the polarizing so-called \u201cSnyderverse\u201d movies \u2014 and creating a more pleasing and profitable future for characters such as Batman, Wonder Woman and, of course, Superman.<\/p>\n
Gunn wrote and directed the first big-screen DCU endeavor, \u201cSuperman,\u201d<\/a> which flies into theaters this week.<\/p>\n
