Things must be pretty slow on Capitol Hill these days. Our congressman, U.S. Rep. Johnny Olszewski, has time to weigh in on pay raises for WNBA players (“Rep. Johnny Olszewski joins WNBA pay equality push: \u2018Pay us what you owe us\u2019,”<\/a> July 22).<\/p>\n

Wow, there’s a matter of dire national importance! What other private businesses need a congressman to sort out their labor issues? Starbucks, perhaps. Maybe he thinks the baristas should be paid by the latte instead of by the hour.<\/p>\n

Note to self: If the U.S. House of Representatives flips in the midterms, there could be a subsidy for WNBA players in a spending bill. Stay in your lane, Congressman Olszewski.<\/p>\n
