President Donald Trump is calling for former Vice President Kamala Harris to be prosecuted along with Beyonc\u00e9, Oprah Winfrey and Al Sharpton for fees allegedly paid to the stars during the 2024 election.<\/p>\n
The president said Harris\u2019 campaign paid the stars millions of dollars for appearances and the money resulted in illegal payments to endorse Harris\u2019 presidential campaign.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m looking at the large amount of money owed by the Democrats, after the Presidential Election,\u201d Trump wrote in a Truth Social post over the weekend. \u201cThese ridiculous fees were incorrectly stated in the books and records. YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO PAY FOR AN ENDORSEMENT. IT IS TOTALLY ILLEGAL TO DO SO.\u201d<\/p>\n
During the 2024 election cycle, Harris drew criticism for more than $165,000 in payments to Beyonc\u00e9\u2019s production company, Parkwood Entertainment, for a Houston rally on Oct. 26.<\/p>\n
Additionally, Winfrey\u2019s production company, Harpo Productions, was paid $1 million for a live stream event she helped organize.<\/p>\n
Harris\u2019 campaign team also sent $500,000 to Sharpton\u2019s National Action Network.<\/p>\n
All three had previously backed Democratic candidates.<\/p>\n
\u201cEleven Million Dollars to singer Beyonc\u00e9 for an ENDORSEMENT (she never sang, not one note, and left the stage to a booing and angry audience!), Three Million Dollars for \u2018expenses,\u2019 to Oprah, Six Hundred Thousand Dollars to very low rated TV \u2018anchor,\u2019 Al Sharpton (a total lightweight!), and others,\u201d Trump wrote.<\/p>\n
It was not immediately clear where Trump got the numbers cited in his post.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey should all be prosecuted! Thank you for your attention to this matter,\u201d Trump said in the post.<\/p>\n
Trump has made similar claims in the past. Last December, he alleged the Harris campaign paid the celebrities for their endorsement, citing different numbers at the time.<\/p>\n
He said at the time that Democrats sent \u201c$11,000,000, $2,000,000, and $500,000 to get the ENDORSEMENT of Beyonc\u00e9, Oprah, and Reverend Al.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cBeyonc\u00e9 didn\u2019t sing, Oprah didn\u2019t do much of anything (she called it \u2018expenses\u2019), and Al is just a third rate Con Man,\u201d he said at the time.<\/p>\n
The Harris campaign has addressed questions about payments made to Beyonc\u00e9\u2019s production company and has denied paying for endorsements.<\/p>\n
Beyonc\u00e9\u2019s mother, Tina Knowles, has publicly denied reports her daughter was paid up to $11 million to speak at the Harris rally.<\/p>\n
Winfrey has also said she \u201cwas not paid a dime\u201d to participate in the event with Harris, but rather had production fees covered by the campaign.<\/p>\n
Trump\u2019s claims came during a four-day visit to the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n
