Chatter and laughter alongside yips and barks filled the Grand Lodge in Hunt Valley as both human and canine guests converged for the “Black Tie & Tails: Hollywood Glam Gala,” the annual Baltimore Humane Society fundraiser that welcomes both people and their pups, with many on both sides dressed to the nines.

During the cocktail hour, the two-legged attendees greeted one another with hugs and handshakes, while their four-legged family members had their own customary method of saying hi to their peers. While people partook of hors d’oeuvres and cocktails, their pooches indulged in treats and bowls of water scattered throughout the lodge hall.

A formal seated dinner in the ballroom – at chairs or on the floor, depending on your species – completed the evening’s festivities. Some 310 people and at least 30 pooches attended this year, bringing in an estimated $150,000 for the Baltimore Humane Society.
